Sunsetting the TNet Portal + A New Beginning

posted in: News | 0

After 10 years of operations, we are shutting down the TNet online letter system (also known as the “User Portal” or “TNet Portal”).

Over the years, deceased donor organ transplant recipients have sent 1000s of beautiful letters of appreciation
to their donor’s families through TNet. You can view some of these letters here.

We sincerely thank everyone who has supported our efforts, as well as all the transplant recipients, donor families, transplant coordinators, and social workers who have ever used the TNet online letter system.
TNet is entirely run and funded out of pocket by a group of volunteers — your participation makes this work so meaningful and fulfilling.

This is not the end of TNet as a whole… but a new beginning! Our goal has always been to promote the virtuous cycle of uplifting donor families and encouraging organ donor registration, and we will continue to do this without the TNet online letter system.

We’ll redirect our primary focus to outreach and educational efforts to promote communications from transplant recipients to donor families. Our partnerships with transplant programs and OPOs will continue, and we plan to expand our reach to even more partners. TransplantNet.org will persist and grow as an online resource to help recipients and donor families contact one another safely, and as a host of published letters from recipients to donor families showcasing the wonders of organ donation.

All our best,

The TransplantNet Team
