Dear Donor Family,
I write to thank you for your loved one’s organ donation which has saved my life, and given me the gift of truly knowing the meaning of thankfulness and giving. I am deeply sorry for your loss.
After four years of kidney dialysis, and a lifetime’s struggle with diabetes, the transplant has not only restored my body, but also my soul and spirit. It has also given me a charge to spread love, positivity, and hope every chance I can. I have found that friends and family are always faithful and supportive. And strangers and those around our everyday lives are also fighting battles we know not, and deserve respect and understanding.
An actor and artist by trade, I have been unable to do much while waiting for a donor. As I recover, I look forward to being on stage again and creating art to share with the world. It’s because of your gift, I’ll be able to live my life to the fill.
Thank you, your family, and your loved one from me, my family, and my friends. I hope these words afford you some comfort, and the knowledge of how truly grateful I am.
Bless you today and always,
Your recipient
