Dear Donor Family,
I am writing to thank you for the organ donation from your loved one. I am very sorry for your loss, and I want you to know that your gift has given me a chance to live a normal, productive life.
I needed a transplant because my liver developed a cancer lesion about a year ago before the transplant and my kidneys were failing due to kidney disease.
Since the transplant, I have been able to rebuild my life and create a new career that is still in progress. Furthermore, I continue to carry the message of AA (31 years of sobriety) and I share with my fellow members the gift of life that was given to me. I have been filled with joy to able to keep up with my great nephews; one is a teenager and his little brother is a toddler. My other nephew has a young teenager, a 2 year old, and a new baby arriving in later this year. You and your loved one made it possible for me to experience these great moments each and every day and not a day goes that I don’t think of your special gift.I am filled with gratitude and I will forever be grateful.
For this, I am very grateful to you and your loved one. My family, friends and community and I will always remember your act of kindness and generosity. I will cherish my gift for the rest of my life.
Thank you,
Your recipient
