“I am forever humbled, grateful and amazed by your giving of life.”

My Dear Donor Family,

I want to express my condolences for the loss of your loved one. My hope is that your receiving of this letter may help you through your grieving process.

I have been married for 36 years and we have 4 children, 5 grandchildren and one more due in April this year.

I have been fighting liver and kidney disease since 2004 when it was first diagnosed. In the last 3 years I have been especially sick and getting weaker. In the last year, my husband and I had resigned to the reality that the life I knew on earth would soon come to an end. Only through our faith in God and prayers from so
many people did we believe and seek help for a successful treatment.

I had taken a fall and broke one leg is several places, and some ribs. I was in the hospital, not doing well. I was in their care for about a month and on the list for transplantation. It was a miracle that they accepted me for a transplant due to my condition, and an incredible gift of life was offered to me, both a liver and kidney, due to your amazing gift as donors.

These words can not even express our gratitude for the selfless decision that you made on that difficult day. My husband always said that when faced with a difficult circumstance one should always try to make it the best that you can.

I am so blessed to be a part of this miracle and I thank you so much for this. I have never received or could receive a more precious gift than this! It is truly a miracle. I am forever humbled, grateful and amazed by your giving of life.

Thank you more than words can express and God bless you.

Very very gratefully yours,
Your recipient
