Hello,

First and foremost I would like to express my deepest, most sincerest condolences for the loss of your loved one. It has been extremely hard to find words that would make this letter comforting. The loss of a loved one is never easy to comprehend, particularity when that precious life is taken at a young age. However, know that your loved one provided continued life and a part of your loved one will forever live on.

My name is Carmen. I am a 67 year old woman. I am a mother of three, however one child passed at the early age of 13. I have six beautiful grandchildren. Five boys and one little girl. My grandchildren range from 3 years old to 23 years old and I am eternally grateful to be given the chance to watch them grow and eventually form their own families. I was sick with Non Alcoholic Steatohepatitis (NASH) liver disease. Cancer formed and further complicated matters. Living in and out of the hospital, not being able to take care of myself and to rely on my sister Emily was frustrating and stressful to say the least. I had to leave my dog Pepper behind when I was moved in with my sister which was very hard for me; she’s been my companion for many years. I look forward to going back to my normal routine of taking my dog for a walk, gardening, and shopping.

I recently had my 9 month follow up visit. I am progressing very well. I have not experience any signs of rejection or major side effects. I know I still have a few more months before I can live independently but that will come in time. For now, I cherish each minute of every day, as a true blessing, thanks to your loved one. I want to thank you and your loved one from the most deepest part of my heart. Your loved one will always be a part of me and we will always be connected. I would love, if you are willing of course, to meet you and possible know more about this amazing, generous person who provided me with continued life. And in turn, if there is anything you would like to know about me or from me, please don’t hesitate to ask. There are not enough thank yous in the world to understand my gratitude. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers every single day and I wish you comfort, peace, happiness and prosperity.

Eternally grateful,

C.
