“At a terrible moment in your life you thought of me and others and helped us live our lives for hopefully a long time”

To the people that changed my life.

I am so sorry that it has taken me this long to show my appreciation for the gift you have given me.

I have started and changed this letter so many times.

What do you say to someone who has lost a loved one?

Well I guess all you can say is how deeply sorry you are for their loss.

But then when times are at the worst for the family knowing they will soon lose a loved one they do something so fantastic as to think of others. In their moment of sorrow they donate organs so that other people they don’t even know can live or have a better quality of life.

To me you are my hero. At a terrible moment in your life you thought of me and others and helped us live our lives for hopefully a long time.

I want you to know that you will always be in my prayers and hope you never have to go through anything like this again.

A little about me I am doing great.

I have a job with the State of California and am getting ready to retire in the next few years..

I have a fantastic wife of 38 years, 3 daughters and 6 grandchildren.

Although I have had my ups and downs, I have been taking good care of myself so as to not let anything happen to my new kidney.

I would be honored to meet you if we ever have the chance.

Thank you again for helping me.

Steve
